Needs:

Fabrics--100% cotton fabrics.  Batiks and multicolored hand-dyed fabrics. Bring a variety of favorite fabrics and include a warm vivid color (such as orange, red or yellow) for your star and a cool, dark color for the background (such as blue, purple, etc.)  For each color, bring at least three values (light, medium and deepest dark) with a noticeable value contrast from a distance of approx.10 ft.) Complementing fabrics for border and backing (½ yard should be sufficient).  With this technique, you do not need fabric in large amounts-½ or ¼ yards, scraps or fat quarters will do.
