  • Fabric for design wall (flannel, batting or sheet - to be taped to the wall)

FABRIC:  Whenever I'm finished with a quilt, I have trouble throwing away the bits and pieces that didn't get used.  I neatly pack them up in a clear plastic bag and save them.  Now I want you to collect up the leftover fabrics  and scraps from a quilt that you've made and love.  "Leftovers" are great because you don't have to select and shop for everything; you've already done the hardest part, which is picking the fabrics.  But....is there something you wish you had included in that quilt?  You might bring that fabric along.  Did you use enough variety in value (lights, mediums and darks) and enough variety in scale (small, medium  and large prints)?  This is an opportunity to enhance your fabric selection.  For the purposes of our class you might throw in a few extras.  You will also need a quarter-yard piece of fabric for the borders and a fat quarter for the back.
