Fabric (please choose 100% cotton, non-directional patchwork fabric) needed for class project :-

  • Sky - 1 yard

  • Sea - ½ yard
  • Beach huts, kites and fish - ? yard each of nine different fabrics
  • Yellow - thin ¼ yard
  • Orange - thin ¼ yard
  • Borders and binding - ½ yard

Required book: Sew a Row Quilts by Karin Hellaby

Other Needs:

  • sewing needles sharps no 8 , 9 or 10. 

  • Appliqué needles
  • neutral sewing thread for basting
  • sewing thread to match fabric 100% machine sewing cotton
  • thimble 
  • flower headed pins and fine pins
  • a small pair of fabric cutting scissors 
  • scissors (paper cutting)
  • sharp pencils 
  • eraser 
  • coloured pencils/pens for fabric marking only
  • rotary cutter   
  • rotary cutting mat   
  • ruler for use with rotary cutter, plus a 6½" square
  • fabric for design wall (flannel, batting, sheet - to be taped to a wall)(optional)
  • sewing machine (plus instruction book and all cords)  
  • ¼" patchwork foot 
  • open toed or clear plastic appliqué foot
  • ¼ metre Steam-a-seam 2 for no-sew appliqué
  • ¼ metre Freezer paper
