Fabric Requirements:

  • 12" x 12" square of fabric for background 

  • Assorted 6" squares of fabric for leaves
  • Fat quarter of fabric (or assorted scraps) for leaf veins
  • 11" square of metallic sheer fabric for wings and body
  • 11" square of blended batik fabric for wings and body

Other Requirements:

  • Freezer paper 

  • Sharpie permanent marker for marking templates
  • Fabric-marking pens or pencils for marking appliqué fabrics
  • 3 Pigma permanent marking pens in shades of green
  • Scissors for cutting freezer paper 
  • Sharp-to-the tip embroidery scissors for cutting fabric
  • Neutral colors of silk thread, or threads to match fabrics 
  • Needles for appliqué 
  • Needle threader (if desired)
  • Comfortable thimble
