11"
square of light, neutral fabric for background
Wide range
of tone-on-tone fabrics
NOTE:
Colorful batiks, hand-painted, or hand-dyed fabrics all work well. I
used many different values of several colors in my rose, including
maroon, deep purple, tomato red, blue-red, coral, yellow, taupe, and
pink. The wider the selection of colors you choose, the more
interesting effects you can create in your finished rose. Do not feel
that you need to use the same colors as I did--bring a wide array of
your favorite colors, and be prepared to play and trade scraps with
people in class.)
