Need List

  • Black fine point felt pen, suitable for writing on plastic

  • 1 sheet template plastic
  • Scissors for fabric and paper
  • Ruler, pencil  + sharpener
  • Large glue stick suitable for use on fabrics (UHU stick or similar. Must not be runny liquid glue)

FABRICS

You will need a large selection of small pieces of fabric. Scraps are suitable, as are charm squares, 5-6" squares, fat eighths etc. Bring what you have on hand. It is not necessary to cut the fabrics into squares before class; size is an approximate guide only and you do not have to cut your fabric before class if you do not wish to. Include large and small prints, spots, stripes, plaids, checks, florals etc in a mix of light, medium and dark values, and in many different colours from the full colour spectrum, e.g.  reds/ pinks / purples/ blues / greens/ yellows/ oranges etc. Please bring cotton patchwork fabrics of the type you normally use; cut small pieces from your stash if necessary. Old and ugly fabrics will not give you the desired results. Usually students are happy to share their fabrics if necessary. Someone will have just the colour you need and vice-versa!
