Needs:
-
#80 machine needles
- 1 reel
good contrast to calico or quilters muslin in good quality cotton thread,
- 1 reel
that is light coloured
- Safety
pins for quilt sandwiches
- Scissors
(fabric cutting)
- Notebook
and pencil
- Sewing
machine (plus instruction book and all cords)
- MUST HAVE
a quilting foot or darning foot able to sew free motion - and must
know before class how to put it on!
- Bernina
#29 foot and a BSR
Fabric
-
You will need
three quilt sandwiches (fabric, then batting, then fabric, pinned
with safety pins) about the area of a large fat quarter - you can
make them up before you come or do them in class. Fabric should be
light cotton, like a good quality quilters muslin, or pre-washed calico.
- Batting
should be not thick - I like Matilda's Own, but it can be cotton or a
firm polyester. Very soft or fluffy battings are hard to work with.
